2017 ALL WORK, NOT ENOUGH PLAY
Well we've jumped right in.
Our trainer wasn't working out so onward and upward, we'll figure it out as we go :) A few staff changes, flying by the seat of our pants, a quick facelift and we are starting to get the hang of things.
It's certainly not all meeting and greeting happy travellers as they pass through in their vans or pop in and out for relaxing weekender.
There's a flash back to my Real Estate days setting up lease agreements, conducting reference checks etc for the 60 plus permanent sites we have.
It's an insight into some longlost hotelier aspirations managing 60 plus motel rooms and cabins. Finding that balance between with giving them a much needed update while still maintaining viability with the 3 star price range.
Brad's extending the full value of his Jack of All talents - he's a plumber, a builder, a tiler, a sparkie, a mechanic while still trying to get around and welcome guests as the ever chirpy groundsman.
Ooooh I'm exhausted just talking about it :)
The red and green cabins above are old heritage cottages, in the low budget range that have previously been used as long term accommodation. Brad and co have given them a fabulous facelift, installed a kitchenette, new floors , paint etc and they are now ready to offer to tourists and ideal for low cost family weekends.
