3 swags, the boat, the poodle and the Land Rover - leave the bus at home they said.
In a last minute weekender, we left late at night to take the boat to Jurien Bay where Brad and Lola would try their luck at fishing.
The first night was spent in amongst the sand dunes of Lancelin - arriving about 3am, falling asleep under the stars I thought it was magic. Nestled neatly between Brad and Lola, I didn't happen to notice the sand storm that filled Brad's swag......
Not so impressed, a grumpy Brad had us up and off early. A great few days in Jurien, out on the water UNTIL! Until we went to the car parked on the beach, tide rising, only to discover Brad had the keys in his pocket which had been swimming in the water.
Hours later and with help from some friendly folk to get the boat out of the water and the car off the beach we arrived to safety although stranded for the long weekend. Insurance/roadside help not much help, a neighbour with a compressor blew the key out the next morning and we were back in action.
Lesson 1: Never sleeping in a swag again Lesson 2: Never leave the bus behind again
